Caregiver's Burden
There are over 15 million Americans caring for a loved one with dementia. These individuals provide over 17 billion hours of uncompensated care each year. Research shows there are few interventions and service use despite the unmet troubles caregivers face. Caregivers report that it only gets harder as a loved one’s dementia worsens and they have trouble accessing end of life services like hospice. (Lewis, 2014)
